Our journey began with a shared passion for the performing arts and a commitment to empowering the next generation of artists. Born out of Porch Light Productions, our mission is to extend the vibrant spirit of theatrical training to students of all ages, helping them to grow both on and off the stage.
Building Characters was conceived as a natural evolution from Porch Light Productions, a renowned theatre company owned by Jenn Boles and Ryan Pifher. With their extensive experience and dedication to the arts, Jenn and Ryan recognized the need for a dedicated platform to further enhance the skills and confidence of young performers. Thus, Building Characters was created to focus exclusively on educational content, workshops, and resources tailored to young aspiring actors and creatives.
Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that theatre is a powerful tool for personal growth. Through engaging lessons and hands-on experiences, we aim to foster creativity, self-expression, and resilience in our students.
